How to Pick a TikTok Giveaway Winner From Video Comments
Copy the link to your public TikTok video, paste it into a TikTok comment picker and draw the winners in one go. If the giveaway is tied to TikTok Shop, use TikTok's own LIVE Giveaway feature instead of a comment draw.

How do you pick a TikTok giveaway winner?
To pick a TikTok giveaway winner, paste the public video link into a TikTok comment picker, set the number of winners, and draw once after entries close.
- Close entries. When the deadline passes, pin a comment saying entries are closed.
- Copy the video link. Tap Share on the video, then Copy link. The short share link the app gives you works as-is.
- Paste it into the picker. Open the TikTok comment picker, paste the link and check the video preview.
- Choose the number of winners. Your prizes plus backups, up to five per draw.
- Draw once, on screen. Record the draw; the recording makes a good follow-up video announcing the winner.
- Verify and contact. Check the winner followed your rules, then reply to their comment and ask them to message you.
Which TikTok giveaways can a comment picker handle?
A comment picker handles any TikTok giveaway where people enter by commenting on a public video or photo post; other entry methods need a different tool.
| Giveaway type | How to pick the winner |
|---|---|
| “Comment to enter” on a public video | TikTok comment picker |
| Photo post (carousel) with comment entries | TikTok comment picker, with the photo post link |
| Video from a private account | Make the account public for the draw, or use a name list |
| Entries by DM or a form | Random name picker |
| Giveaway tied to TikTok Shop | TikTok's own LIVE Giveaway feature |
What rules should a TikTok giveaway have?
A TikTok giveaway needs five rules: how to enter, a deadline with a time zone, who is eligible, free entry and, for sponsored giveaways, a disclosure.
- How to enter, in one line. “Follow and comment your favourite flavour.” Keep it short enough to say in the first seconds of the video.
- A deadline with a time zone. TikTok audiences are often international, so “Sunday night” means different things to different entrants.
- Eligibility. Age and country limits, especially for physical prizes you have to ship.
- Free entry. Don't require a purchase to enter.
- Disclosure. If a brand is paying you to run the giveaway, turn on TikTok's content disclosure setting.
This is general guidance, not legal advice. TikTok Shop has its own giveaway requirements for sellers, and prize promotion law varies by country.
What makes a TikTok draw different from Instagram?
The draw itself works the same on both platforms; what differs is where viewers read the rules and how you announce the winner.
| TikTok | ||
|---|---|---|
| Where rules are read | Spoken in the video, then the caption | The caption |
| Typical audience | Wider reach beyond followers, often international | Mostly existing followers |
| Link to paste | Video or photo post share link | Post or Reel link |
| Best way to announce | A follow-up video showing the draw | A Story with the draw recording |

Can you pick a winner from a TikTok LIVE?
Not with a comment picker. Messages sent during a LIVE are chat, not comments on a video, so a comment picker has nothing to read. For a giveaway during a LIVE, ask viewers to comment on a regular video instead, or note the names of people who entered and draw from that list with the random name picker. Giveaways run through TikTok Shop have their own LIVE Giveaway feature.
How do you show a TikTok draw was fair?
Show the whole draw in one unbroken recording, so viewers can see the pool came from your video and that you drew only once.
- Start recording before you paste the link, so the video preview is visible.
- Draw once, with backups included, and don't cut the recording.
- Post the recording as a follow-up video and pin it to your profile.
- Reply to the winning comment so others can see it was a real entry.
How do you handle entrants from different countries?
TikTok videos often reach people outside your own country, so decide before posting whether the prize can ship anywhere. If it can't, list the eligible countries in the rules and check the winner's country when they claim. If a winner is outside the area, the prize passes to the next backup from the same draw.
Frequently asked questions
How do I pick a random comment on TikTok?
Copy the link to your public TikTok video, paste it into a TikTok comment picker such as GiveawayPicker, set how many winners you need and press draw. No TikTok login is needed.
Is there a free TikTok giveaway picker?
Yes. GiveawayPicker gives one free draw a day on any public TikTok video, with up to five winners, no signup and no login. A subscription adds unlimited draws and reads every comment on large videos.
Can I use a comment picker for a TikTok Shop giveaway?
Not for giveaways run through TikTok Shop. TikTok requires sellers to use its official LIVE Giveaway feature for those. A comment picker is for ordinary giveaways on your videos.
Can a TikTok comment picker check if the winner follows me?
No. A no-login picker only sees public comments, not follower lists. Check the winner's follow on their profile after the draw.
Does the TikTok picker work with vm.tiktok.com links?
Yes. Short share links copied from the TikTok app work the same as full video URLs.
Can I pick a winner from TikTok LIVE comments?
No. Messages in a TikTok LIVE are chat, not video comments, so a comment picker can't read them. Ask viewers to comment on a video instead, or draw from a list of names with a random name picker.
The TikTok comment picker is free, needs no login and picks up to five winners from a public post in one draw.
